WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITION?

Anyone: illustrators, creative people, photographers, storytellers, designers, artists and anybody with a good idea.

WHY PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITION?

• Your poster will contribute to a better world.
• You can win one of ten cash prizes, with a grand prize of 10,000 euros!
• Second and third place winners will receive 5,000 and 2,500 euros respectively, and there are seven prizes of 1,000 euros.
• Your poster could be used in a national climate campaign.
• The winning posters will tour at various museums.
• You will help people to do the right thing for the climate.

WHAT DO I NEED TO SUBMIT?

• As a creator, choose your own focus and tone: what needs to change, which themes are crucial?You can participate individually or as a group.
• Try to motivate people with your poster, making them feel part of the solution.
• Your poster can address everyday matters in which benefits for the climate can be achieved: work, living, travel, food. Or focus on specific climate issues that require action from parties, companies or institutions.
• A previously unpublished poster which you own the copyright of.
• A vertical poster in the dimensions of an A1 poster (841 by 594 mm).
• All techniques and combinations are allowed, as long as the poster has a strong and readable message that will stand out in a media campaign on the streets.
• The poster can consist of only an image, a combination of images, an image or images with text or only text.
• The text can be in either Dutch or English.
• Submit in RGB, preferably in high resolution: minimum 8MB and maximum 50MB.
• Accepted file formats are JPEG and PNG.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MY POSTER?

The submission deadline for Posters for the Planet is 31 August. The ten winners will be announced on 16 October at a festive awards ceremony at the ARTIS – Groote Museum in Amsterdam. After which the winning posters will go on tour to various museums and a national media campaign will follow in December.

WHO WILL ASSESS MY WORK?

The members of the expert jury selecting the winners are behavioural scientist Reint Jan Renes; Urgenda director Marjan Minnesma; curator at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam Thomas Castro; political cartoonist Jip van den Toorn and Turing Foundation Climate Director Lian Heinhuis.
